FAQs

  • Visit our application page to complete the process quickly and easily using our online system. The application is simple and can be completed in just a few minutes, even on a mobile device. We collect a one-time $20 application fee as part of the application process.

  • Once your application is submitted, we’ll initiate an immediate background check and credit score inquiry. The credit check is a soft pull, so it won't impact your credit. After we have the information we need, we’ll email you to let you know about moving in. If you’re ready to move in immediately, you can pay your security deposit and rent online using the same system you used to apply.

  • NewChapter is priced to accommodate the needs and budgets of our residents. For those opting for a shared living experience, the rent is $1,100 monthly or $275 weekly. For residents preferring the privacy of a single room, the monthly rent is $2,200, or $550 weekly.

  • Residents use our streamlined online platform to make weekly rental payments. We accept payment by credit card, debit card, or ACH transfer.

  • You are welcome to move in immediately after making your initial rental payment and security deposit. Because we understand the need for a swift and harmonious transition from treatment to a trusted sober living environment, NewChapter has streamlined every phase of our application process. We want to get you feeling safe and settled in your new home as quickly and efficiently as possible.

  • No problem! Private rooms are available in most houses for $2,200 a month or $550 a week. You can indicate on your application that you’d like a private room, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

  • NewChapter is here to help you get settled comfortably and easily into your new home. Upon arrival, you can expect to find a welcoming and fully furnished environment. Your room will be ready today, and your bed will be made with clean bedding.

Your House Manager will be there to meet you when you arrive. Each NewChapter House Manager is also sober and in recovery, so they can offer your support both as a peer and mentor. Feel free to ask any questions as your House Manager shows you around and introduces you to your housemates

  • We encourage you to bring the best version of yourself to your NewChapter home by showing up with gratitude, a sense of community spirit, and excitement about the future.

On a more practical note, bring your personal care items, any prescription medications you need, and pictures of loved ones or something meaningful to cheer you up and keep you motivated. Even a simple memento can help personalize your room and create a warm environment.

  • While you’re bringing your best self to your new home, you can also leave behind the attitudes and behaviors that don’t align with or support your recovery journey. Lighten the load for yourself and the people in your home by checking that at the door.

Residents may not bring alcohol, illegal drugs, or banned substances into NewChapter homes. Doing so may result in immediate dismissal from the community. NewChapter also forbids the possession of firearms and weapons in our homes.

  • If you need help with one of your housemates, please speak with your House Manager immediately. Because Your House Manager is there to listen, support you with suggestions, and address any challenges with a solution-focused approach. Often, issues that arise between residents can be fruitfully addressed at weekly house meetings.

We know that living in close quarters with other people can be challenging and that conflicts may arise. At NewChapter, we encourage you to use these experiences as opportunities to grow your sober skill set—so you can work out any personal difficulties while learning how to communicate, share your feelings, and maintain healthy relationships.

  • We’re here to help make your transition as smooth and easy as possible. If you’re struggling and need more assistance than you’re receiving, please contact your House Manager immediately. You can also email the NewChapter team at info@newchaptertx.com to let us know you need help. We’ll work with your House Manager and discharge team to get you the additional support you need to feel safe and stable in your new environment.

  • Our sober living house rules are designed to provide all residents a safe, recovery-conducive environment. You can see a comprehensive list of house rules by visiting the NewChapter House Rules page.
